How to Use Roamies

How it works
I have flown California to Australia
more times than I can count.
At some point on every single one of those flights, I'd think: there has to be a better way to do this. Roamies is that better way.
I'm a California girl married to an Australian, which means I live in Australia now and fly back to see my family more often than any sane person probably should. San Francisco to Adelaide is not a short trip. It is a commitment. A full day in the air, at least one stopover, multiple time zones, and a very strong desire to feel like a human being on the other side.
Part of my ritual — and I think a lot of long-haul travelers will relate to this — was always changing my underwear at some point during the journey. Once I cross the 12 hour mark it feels like a necessity, not just for comfort but to arrive at my destination feeling just that little bit more fresh.
But every single time, without fail, it was an ordeal. Shoes off. Socks on the dirty bathroom floor. Leggings getting twisted up. All the while in a plane bathroom the size of my carry-on.
I started thinking about this problem long before I started Roamies. It was one of those things that felt so obvious once you named it — why is changing underwear on a plane this hard? Why hasn't anyone fixed it?
So I fixed it. Strong snap closures on both side seams means your leggings stay on, your shoes stay on, the floor remains untouched, and you're ready to go in 30 seconds.
Here's the step-by-step.
Open the left snap
Run your fingers along your left hip seam. The snaps are firm and easy to find — there's no guessing. Pop it open. Very satisfying, for the record.
Open the right side
Same on the right. Both sides open and the whole thing comes away from your body. No pulling, no wiggling, no balancing on one foot.
Snap the fresh pair on
Slide into a new Roamies pair, pull the left side to your hip and snap it closed, then the right. The seams sit flat and snug. Nobody would ever know they open at all.
The fabric is 93% cotton with a little elastane — soft, breathable, genuinely nice to wear. The snaps are reinforced into the seams so they hold exactly like a regular pair during wear. No bulges, no gaps, nothing that makes you feel like you're wearing a "travel product." You're just wearing good underwear that happens to be smarter than most.
Roamies are designed to be used in a pack so you always have a worn pair and a fresh pair to change into — The One-Way Pack (2), The Founder Pack (3), or The There & Back Pack (4). Briefs and thongs, both in black. Single pairs also available.
